Scriptor/UNIX is a network management application for centralizedconfiguration management of Xyplex Terminal and Printer Servers, RemoteBridges, TCP/IP-LAT Gateway, TN 3270 Terminal Emulator, and X.25 Gatewayproducts. Scriptor/UNIX enables a network manager to efficiently controland manage complex network configurations from a Sun-3 or SPARCstation bycentrally setting, tracking, and changing configuration parameters.Scriptor/UNIX uses TCP/IP, and it can remotely manage Xyplex units onmultiple Ethernet segments across IP routers.Scriptor/UNIX enables the setting of configuration parameters of ports,entire physical units (e.g. Xyplex's 6510 Remote Bridge), or a group ofports or physical devices that have identical configuration settings.With Scriptor/UNIX, a manager can quickly check the current settings ofthe Xyplex data communications products, and identify the current statusof the unit. A database of configuration information is maintained forcentral restoral of Xyplex terminal and printer servers, remote bridges,and other Xyplex communication units. Scriptor/UNIX enables time savingsto be achieved when managing complex networks.
